Our Company

Vigilance Limited is a New Zealand registered company (4942199)  based on Auckland’s north shore. Our clients range from SME to listed companies in NZ and offshore. Simply put we are crime fighters, providing our clients with real-time automation tools that protect them from internal and external payment fraud.

Our Mission 

Vigilance’s focus is to address the issues faced by all organisations when trying to monitor and protect their payments and ensure governance and compliance around such processes. We provide a robust payment approval solution that offers real-time auditing and ensures separation of duties for the accounts department. By sitting over the top of your Accounting, ERP, Payroll and Banking platforms Vigilance is able to see what these separate systems can’t see and uses its smarts to capture suspicious and noteworthy transactions long before the money is gone!

In consultation with Policymakers, Auditors, the FIU and Reporting entities Vigilance has developed a specific product for AML Phase 2 compliance. There are a number of businesses that will be captured under the Anti-money Laundering and Counter Terrorism funding (AML/CTF) Act. This including Lawyers, Accountants, Real estate companies along with Jewellers and some other high-value businesses that are considered as high risk.

At the heart of Vigilance is transaction monitoring which is mission critical to assist AML Officers to meet their compliance duties under the legislation and ties these transactions to their customer’s activities and their related entities and source of wealth.

Sam MacGeorge

Experiencing fraud first hand led Sam to investigate how widespread this issue was. After discovering that payment fraud is a USD$100 Billion problem annually and no business was immune, he decided to do something about it.

Having already, successfully built a technology company gave Sam the skills to look at this problem from a technology perspective. After all, payment fraud is committed by those who are intimate with their organisation’s payment systems and it’s these systems that are collectively flawed and allow their weaknesses to be exploited by fraudsters.

Dale Towers

Director

Dale’s been in the business of managing businesses for around 30 years. In this time he’s worked in a number of industry sectors, including environmental, forestry, manufacturing and more recently animal health and veterinary services. As his career progressed his roles have morphed from technical to project/supply chain management and then into the highest levels of senior management. Dale has also served as a company director for businesses with interests in software development and other industries.

Bachelors and Masters degrees from Waikato University, PhD in science from Massey University and a postgraduate certificate in Business Management from Deakin University, Australia. Chartered Company Director with the New Zealand Institute of Directors. MSc (Hons), PhD, Grad Cert Mgmt, CMinstD

Leigh Flounders

If you have been involved in Tech or Payment companies in New Zealand, you have heard about Leigh Flounders.

Currently, Leigh works as Senior Vice President Head of Digital Strategy at Emirates, NBD – one of the largest banking groups in the Middle East in terms of the Assets. He is tasked with guiding the group to the future all banks have to embrace, which is all based on engaging their customers through digital channels and platforms.

Leigh has a vast amount of experience in payment, and technology companies where he has served and continues to serve as an executive, advisor and members of their respective boards. These companies include Latipay, Baidu, Alipay, WeChat and JDPay, NZTech and of course Vigilance to name a few. Leigh also continues to participate in the World Class New Zealander program hosted by Kea. In this program, he and other world-class New Zealanders lend their influence and insights to help Kiwis succeed on the world stage.

Some of Leigh’s other accolades includes The 2016 Australia New Zealand Internet Awards (Melbourne), Start-Up Of The Year, The 2017 South By South West (Austin Texas) FinTech & Payments pitch winner, The 2017 New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards (Auckland) Tech Start Up Of The Year and The Westpac Business Awards 2017 Best Emerging Business Finalist.

With Leigh’s strong background in Payment and Technology companies and strong capability with his experience and skill set in business strategy and insights – we are lucky to have him on board to help us achieve Vigilance’s mission.

Dr. Brian Linehan

Director

Dr. Brian Linehan has significant experience in business governance and management having been involved in many public and community service groups.

He served as Pro-Chancellor for the University of Waikato and also spend time on multiple other key committees, including the University’s Finance Committee between 2003 – 2014.  He chaired this committee for the last four years of his involvement. He also served on the University’s Risk Management committee over the same period.

Brian has a degree in human Pathology and became the  Managing Partner/Director of Medlab Hamilton. He also was the  President of the Board of Directors of Medical Assurance Society and the Chairperson of New Zealand Veterinary Pathology.
